The AB Charity Foundation has launched its global operations from Dublin, Ireland, marking a significant milestone in its mission to reshape public trust and sustainable development using blockchain technology. The nonprofit, operating under EU legal status, revealed its upgraded website and announced a comprehensive public-interest initiative backed by advanced blockchain infrastructure. Central to its operations is the AB DAO, which supports a public chain designed to automate and ensure complete auditability of charitable transactions. A portion of gas fees from each AB public chain transaction, as well as a part of the returns from the AB Ecosystem Fund, are directed into a dedicated charity pool. The initiative is underpinned by the governance of a board of former European state heads including Bertie Ahern, Lawrence Gonzi, Péter Medgyessy, Danilo Türk, and Petar Stoyanov. In addition, the Foundation is expanding its global advisory board with distinguished figures from various fields, further establishing credibility and encouraging international collaboration in areas such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian aid. This move is aimed at demonstrating how blockchain can drive transparent and scalable philanthropic funding, potentially setting a new standard for next-generation charitable infrastructure.
