Unconfirmed reports suggest that Jeffy Yu, founder of the small-cap crypto project Zerebro, may have died by suicide during a livestream on Pump.fun on May 4. Viral footage allegedly shows Yu taking his life, but its authenticity remains unverified as of now.

On the same day, Yu published a manifesto introducing 'Legacoins', a new memecoin category centered on legacy and permanence. According to Yu, a Legacoin is a token that developers strictly acquire and never sell or trade, with holdings locked upon a holder’s death to create an immutable price floor. He launched a new token, LLJEFFY, as the first legacoin, featuring a bot to buy and burn tokens automatically.

Community reactions were mixed; some speculated the event could be a marketing stunt, especially given past announcements about upcoming Zerebro releases. However, an obituary posted on May 6 appeared to confirm Yu’s death at age 22.

Amidst these events, ZEREBRO token saw a significant uptick, trading around $0.04, up 85% over the past month, reportedly aligned with broader gains in the AI crypto sector.
