Crypto exchange Bitget has entered a three-year partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg to advance blockchain literacy and digital skills among young people, especially adolescent girls, across eight nations including India, Brazil, Malaysia, and Morocco. The initiative aims to educate over 300,000 participants by delivering interactive blockchain training modules that emphasize video game development as a teaching tool.
Bitget Academy, the educational arm of the exchange, will develop the program, leveraging gamification to simplify complex blockchain concepts. The partnership is part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition and aligns with Bitget's $10 million Blockchain4Her initiative, which supports women's digital literacy and financial independence through mentorship and tailored educational resources.
The program targets countries with low and middle incomes to address gender disparities in tech skill development, with more than a million women projected to enter the gaming industry by 2027. Beyond curriculum creation, Bitget plans to connect UNICEF with prominent Web3 developers and protocols to act as mentors, enhancing the training's relevance and accessibility.
This collaboration follows Bitget’s recent efforts to boost Web3 adoption in India through partnerships like the one with Avalanche. The initiative reflects the growing global emphasis on educating future workforces and law enforcement on blockchain technologies to counter fraud and empower new economic opportunities.
