Binance Pay Expands Crypto Payments to French Riviera: 80+ Luxury Merchants Adopt Stablecoins

Binance Pay has partnered with French fintech Lyzi to enable cryptocurrency payments at over 80 merchants across the French Riviera, including Cannes, Nice, Antibes, and Monaco. This marks one of Europe's largest real-world crypto payment deployments in a luxury destination, covering hotels like JW Marriott Cannes, beach clubs, high-end retailers, and restaurants such as Le César in Antibes.

Transactions via QR code scanning support over 100 cryptocurrencies, with euro/dollar-pegged stablecoins like EURI and USDC emphasized for instant, gas-free payments. Merchants receive immediate euro settlements, eliminating crypto volatility exposure. The initiative aligns with Cannes' municipal Web3 adoption push and MiCA regulations, which provide a harmonized EU framework for crypto services.

David Princay, CEO of Binance France, stated: "This adoption shows digital assets are becoming part of everyday life", while Lyzi CEO Damien Patureaux reported "exceptional merchant enthusiasm". A promotional campaign offers 5 EURI rewards (worth €5) for the first 1,999 customers spending €20+ before July 6.
