Bitwise Investments Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan and Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen identify this trend as potentially eclipsing all current crypto narratives. They specifically highlighted Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), and Chainlink (LINK) as primary beneficiaries due to their technical maturity and existing infrastructure.
Hougan emphasized the market's enormous scale, stating: "I've always been on the fence about tokenization, but it's ridiculous that stocks only trade between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. That's about to change." He reinforced this by citing BlackRock CEO Larry Fink's assertion that "every stock, every bond, every fund—every asset—can be tokenized," projecting a potential 4,000X market growth.
Institutional validation is already materializing: BlackRock and Fidelity have collectively invested $78 million in Ethereum, Solana's open interest surged to $7.4 billion, and XRP recently jumped 10% after Nasdaq inclusion. Bitwise cautions against picking single winners in this fragmented landscape, instead advocating for a basket approach. Rasmussen noted Solana's reliability upgrades and public roadmap milestones as key developments, while regulatory frameworks are advancing to support blockchain integration in mainstream finance.
