The Sandbox has initiated its largest LAND sale to date, exclusively partnering with GBM Auctions to auction 110 virtual land plots and 220 branded avatars using GBM's Win-Win protocol. The sale, active from July 15 to July 22, 2025, includes 80 regular LANDs, 26 premium LANDs, and four estates—three 3x3 plots and one 6x6 estate—available solely through GBM.
Notably, this marks the first time The Sandbox has prioritized auctions before its platform sale, signaling a strategic shift in digital asset distribution. The auction features avatars from 22 intellectual properties including Cirque du Soleil, with all assets being primary listings unavailable on secondary markets during the event.
GBM's Win-Win protocol revolutionizes bidding by refunding outbid participants and providing incentive rewards, promoting engagement and transparent price discovery. The Sandbox NFT Sales Director Cédric Neumann emphasized the model's role in ecosystem growth, while GBM CEO Hugo McDonaugh called it a "blueprint for branded asset distribution in the open metaverse." GBM has previously facilitated over $200M in auction volume.
