NEXPACE has announced major expansions for its blockchain-powered MapleStory Universe (MSU) ecosystem, advancing its Infinite IP Playground vision through new developer infrastructure and cross-IP scalability. The rollout includes the activation of MSU's first gameplay logic API for item enhancement—launching July 29 with the Smithy prototype—enabling community-driven service creation.

Over 50 independent teams are already building tools within the ecosystem, prompting infrastructure upgrades like a Q4 2025 Builder Center, permissionless blockchain layer for dApp deployment, and Chainlink CCIP integration for cross-chain interoperability. NEXPACE CEO Sunyoung Hwang emphasized this transforms MSU into a "platform where players and builders co-create web3 gaming worlds."

Additionally, an ecosystem fund will support early-stage projects in Metaplay, SocialFi, and AI-enhanced gameplay, while another undisclosed Nexon IP will join MSU to expand creator possibilities. The roadmap includes API enhancements in August, third-party app rollouts through November, and a December Builder Center launch with expanded APIs.
