The Smarter Web Company has surpassed 2,000 Bitcoin in its corporate treasury, now holding 2,050 BTC valued at approximately $242 million (£166.7 million). This positions the London-listed tech firm among the top 25 public Bitcoin holders globally, according to July 2025 reports.
CEO Andrew Webley emphasized Bitcoin's strategic role, stating: "Alongside our core business, we believe Bitcoin is the best asset the world has ever seen... we use it as a treasury asset for capital held for future business needs." The accumulation is part of a 10-year plan initiated post-IPO, featuring recent acquisitions of 225 BTC for £19.9 million and 325 BTC for £27.1 million, at average prices of £88,482 and £81,346 per coin respectively.
The strategy has yielded extraordinary returns, including a 49,198% year-to-date gain and 224% growth over the past 30 days. With £500,000 reserved for future purchases, the company—which accepts Bitcoin for its web design/marketing services—plans continued acquisitions aligned with market conditions. Despite acknowledging risks like volatility and regulatory uncertainties (noting holdings lack FCA/FSCS protection), the firm reaffirms Bitcoin as a core long-term store of value.
