BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes executed a high-profile Ethereum repurchase, buying back $10.5 million worth of ETH at prices exceeding $4,150 just one week after selling 2,373 ETH for $8.32 million at approximately $3,507 per token. Hayes publicly acknowledged the reversal on social media, humorously stating: "Had to buy it all back... I pinky swear, I’ll never take profit again" while tagging Fundstrat's Tom Lee.

The move occurred despite Hayes' recent macroeconomic warnings predicting potential ETH declines to $3,000, which prompted his initial sale alongside $4.62 million in Ethena (ENA) and $414,700 in Pepe (PEPE). Concurrently, institutional entities accumulated 1.035 million ETH (worth $4.17 billion) since July 10 at an average price of $3,546, coinciding with Ethereum's 45% price surge from $2,600 to $4,000.

EmberCN data indicates these institutional purchases likely originated from U.S. public companies or undisclosed whales, excluding known entities like SBET. While Hayes' trade amplified short-term market attention, broader crypto liquidity remained unaffected.
