The Shiba Inu development team has issued critical security warnings about sophisticated scams targeting SHIB holders through counterfeit Discord servers. Scammers are exploiting expired Discord invite links to create fraudulent servers mimicking official Shiba Inu branding, tricking users into connecting wallets under false pretenses of account verification or rewards.
According to lead developer Kaal Dhairya, victims' wallets are drained within minutes after authorizing malicious transactions. He emphasized: "Users should never rush into connecting wallets or approving transactions from unverified links." The alert follows social media reports of compromised wallets, including one labeled "Shiba Inu: Deployer 1," though Dhairya clarified no core ecosystem systems were breached.
The team urges exclusive reliance on shib.io for verified links and warns against unofficial Discord invites. Shibarium Trustwatch reinforced this, advising against rushed wallet connections from Discord links and encouraging cross-referencing social media reputations. Despite these threats, development continues on Shibarium's decentralization features, with recent updates to its developer hub aimed at expanding network participation.
