Cardano Founder Announces XRP Integration in Lace Wallet Following Successful Midnight Airdrop

Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, has revealed plans for significant collaboration with the XRP ecosystem during a recent AMA session. The announcement comes on the heels of what Hoskinson described as the successful Midnight airdrop, with over 1.6 billion NIGHT tokens already redeemed across multiple blockchain ecosystems including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Binance Coin, Avalanche, and Basic Attention Token.

Hoskinson confirmed that Cardano's Lace wallet will add support for XRP before the end of 2025, marking a major step in the platform's multi-chain development strategy. He described having a "great" conversation with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse about potential integration opportunities and expressed enthusiasm about working with the XRP community, stating it would be "a lot of fun."

The Cardano founder also suggested hosting a joint event with key XRP community figures, specifically mentioning pro-crypto lawyer John Deaton as a potential participant. Deaton responded positively, calling it "an honor and pleasure" to collaborate with Hoskinson and other ecosystem leaders.

This represents a significant shift in Hoskinson's approach toward XRP, as he had previously clashed with members of the community over issues like "ETHGate." The integration plan includes potential support for XRP DeFi tools and discussions around Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, with market observers noting XRP's price had increased to $2.20 following the announcement.
