ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, purchased $4.4 million worth of BitMine Immersion Technologies shares on September 8, 2025, acquiring 101,950 shares across three ETFs: ARK Innovation ETF (67,700 shares), ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (21,890 shares), and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (12,360 shares). This brings ARK's total BitMine holdings to 6.7 million shares valued at $284 million.
The investment coincided with BitMine announcing it had crossed the milestone of holding 2 million ETH in its treasury, worth approximately $8.9 billion at current prices. The company accumulated this position in just five months and now controls 1.7% of Ethereum's total supply and 42% of all corporate ETH holdings. BitMine Chairman Tom Lee stated the company aims to acquire 5% of Ethereum's supply, with current holdings representing 34% progress toward that goal.
BitMine stock gained 4.1% on Monday to close at $43.79, with an additional 0.71% gain in after-hours trading. The stock has risen 460% year-to-date. Meanwhile, ARK sold $5.13 million worth of Robinhood shares as the stock surged 15.8% on S&P 500 inclusion news.
