Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has officially secured a Guinness World Records title for 'Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours' during its World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025 event. The record was achieved on August 27, 2025, when 71,765 unique traders participated within a single day, verified by third-party auditor HACKEN.
The achievement marks the first time any crypto exchange has received this accolade. Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, stated: "Nothing demonstrates team spirit like a world record achieved by the WSOT collective. We believe crypto is a global movement and our passionate communities are the building blocks."
WSOT 2025 has broken multiple records: total trading volume reached $172.8 billion (the highest in WSOT history), squad participation increased by 288% year-on-year with 1,474 teams, and the prize pool unlocked over 6.14 million USDT. Additionally, the first 30,000 eligible participants will share a secret prize pool beyond the main $10 million reward.
Bybit celebrated the milestone with a livestream on September 8, 2025, distributing 50,000 MNT to participants and 1,000 USDT in airdrops to viewers. The event also featured the first WSOT Onchain Wave, generating over $68 million in trading volume since August 18.
