The Smarter Web Company, a London-listed technology firm and the UK's largest publicly traded Bitcoin-holding company, has appointed Coinbase Institutional as its new Bitcoin custody partner. This strategic partnership, announced on September 16, 2025, will leverage Coinbase Prime's institutional-grade custody and execution infrastructure to secure Smarter Web's growing Bitcoin treasury, which currently stands at 2,470 BTC valued at approximately $2.83 billion.

CEO Andrew Webley emphasized Coinbase's reputation as "one of the most respected and regulated players in the digital asset space," noting that their custody solutions align perfectly with Smarter Web's long-term strategy. The partnership supports the company's "10-Year Plan" for Bitcoin accumulation, which recently saw an additional 30 BTC purchased in September 2025. The firm had previously raised £17.5 million in July 2025 to fund ongoing Bitcoin adoption efforts.

Smarter Web has accepted Bitcoin as payment since 2023 and maintains a multi-custodian approach to enhance transparency and risk management. This collaboration strengthens its position as the 26th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally and reinforces its commitment to driving institutional adoption.
