On September 17, 2025, crypto investors and memecoin organizers installed a 12-foot golden statue of Donald Trump holding a Bitcoin outside the U.S. Capitol on the National Mall. The statue, constructed from "extremely hard foam" for portability, was displayed from 9 AM to 4 PM on 3rd Street near Capitol Hill as part of a coordinated Pump.fun livestream promotion.

Organizer Hichem Zaghdoudi stated the installation was "designed to ignite conversation about the future of government-issued currency" and served as "a symbol of the intersection between modern politics and financial innovation." The event was timed to coincide with the Federal Reserve's announcement of a 25 basis point interest rate cut to approximately 4.1%, a move that typically benefits risk assets like cryptocurrency.

The organizers simultaneously launched a memecoin on the Pump.fun platform, using multiple livestreams to promote the token and document the statue's creation and placement. Zaghdoudi credited Trump's cryptocurrency advocacy, stating: "This is to show everybody that without the president, we could never have had this mass adoption of Bitcoin, of cryptocurrencies, of all these big institutions buying Bitcoin."

This marks at least the third Trump-related installation on the National Mall in 2025, but the first supportive one following previous protest statues. The Fed announced two additional rate cuts planned for the year, with only one expected in 2026.
