Binance has announced the addition of Plasma (XPL) as the 44th project on its HODLer Airdrops page, ahead of the token's spot trading debut on September 25, 2025, at 13:00 UTC. Plasma is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed for high-volume, low-cost stablecoin transactions, positioning itself as a payments-focused network.
The airdrop rewards eligible BNB holders who subscribed their BNB to Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields between September 10 and 13, 2025, with a pool of 75 million XPL (0.75% of the total supply). Distribution will occur at least an hour before trading begins. Additional allocations include up to 50 million XPL for marketing and 150 million XPL six months later.
Plasma will be listed with trading pairs including XPL/USDT, XPL/USDC, XPL/BNB, XPL/FDUSD, and XPL/TRY. The token has a genesis supply of 10 billion XPL, with 1.8 billion (18%) circulating on day one, and follows an inflationary model starting at 5% in year one, declining annually by 0.5% to a 3% floor. Binance has tagged XPL with a Seed Tag, indicating it as an early-stage project with potential high volatility.
Binance's support may extend to direct USDT deposits and withdrawals on the Plasma Network, highlighting its stablecoin strategy. However, concerns remain about sustainability due to the inflationary supply and heavy marketing reliance.
