Shibarium has restored the Plasma Bridge for the BONE token, following a $4.1 million exploit in September 2025 that disrupted the network. The attack, executed via a flash loan, resulted in the theft of 4.6 million BONE tokens, along with $1 million in Ether, $1.3 million in SHIB, and over $717,000 in KNINE.
After a comprehensive security review, the bridge is now operational with new safety measures, including a proactive blacklisting system that flags and blocks suspicious wallet addresses at the bridge layer to prevent future attacks. Additionally, all BONE withdrawals now have a seven-day delay, allowing security teams time to monitor and respond to unusual activity before finalization.
The Shiba Inu development team emphasized, "We’re pleased to share that the Plasma Bridge is back online for BONE, following a comprehensive review and a series of security enhancements. Users can once again bridge BONE between Ethereum and Shibarium with a safer, stronger, and more resilient experience." This reactivation is part of a broader effort that included a $4 million refund plan for affected users, aimed at rebuilding trust and ensuring ecosystem stability.
