On October 21, 2025, a SpaceX-linked wallet moved $268 million worth of Bitcoin to two separate addresses, following a three-month period of inactivity, as reported by Arkham data. The transfer involved 1,187 BTC sent to an address starting with "bc1qq" and 1,208 BTC to another starting with "bc1qj7", totaling 2,395 BTC. On-chain analyst Ai Yi noted that this is likely an internal management move, such as wallet reorganization, and not a sale, as the funds remain in the wallets without further movement or liquidation.

This activity mirrors a previous pattern; in July 2025, SpaceX transferred 1,308 BTC valued at $153 million to a Coinbase Prime Custody address, sparking similar speculations. Analysts have downplayed concerns, suggesting it is routine housekeeping. After the recent transfer, the SpaceX wallet holds 5,790 BTC, worth approximately $625 million at current prices, down from a peak of 28,000 BTC in April 2021. Meanwhile, Tesla, another Elon Musk company, holds 11,509 BTC valued at $1.241 billion, with combined Musk-linked holdings totaling around $1.86 billion in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin's price fell 2.71% to $107,829 in the past 24 hours, underperforming the broader crypto market, though the transfer itself is not seen as a direct cause for alarm.
