Pi Network has launched its most substantial update to date, Pi Blockchain V23, representing a historic milestone in on-chain identity verification and Web3 integration. This enhancement makes Pi Network one of the first blockchain ecosystems to fully integrate on-chain Know Your Customer (KYC) processes with decentralized applications (DApps), establishing new benchmarks for user authenticity and security in the digital space.

The on-chain KYC mechanism allows user identity data to be stored directly on the blockchain in an encrypted format, accessible only with explicit user permission. This eliminates the need for third-party intermediaries and replaces outdated manual verification methods, streamlining onboarding for millions of users within the Pi ecosystem. A standout feature is the Fast-Track KYC, which enables Pioneers to check their verification status in real-time without prior session dependencies, boosting compliance and accelerating developer testing while safeguarding privacy.

V23 strengthens the bridge between Web2 and Web3 through PiNet, permitting any user to share DApps with non-Pioneers via a user-friendly browser interface. The Pi Browser now displays both Testnet and Mainnet DApps, all subjected to security checks, allowing seamless wallet connections, smart contract executions, and DApp interactions without repetitive KYC procedures.

Technically, Pi Blockchain V23 is a fork of the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) with tailored parameters to enhance transaction throughput, node reliability, and synchronization. A new Linux Node system offers improved uptime and simplified management for developers. The update also supports a 100 DApp test package, preparing the community for the eagerly awaited Mainnet expansion and ensuring the ecosystem scales efficiently without compromising performance or stability.

As of late 2025, over 14.8 million users have been verified on the Mainnet, with the active Pioneer community driving growth through mining, engagement, and contributions. This upgrade paves the way for integration with banks, centralized exchanges (CEXs), and decentralized exchanges (DEXs), ensuring adherence to global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and fostering institutional partnerships. Pi Blockchain V23 lays a robust foundation for Pi Network's vision of a decentralized, inclusive internet, with future efforts focused on expanding collaborations, refining DApp capabilities, and deepening exchange integrations.
