Iggy Azalea Appointed Creative Director of Solana-Based Thrust Launchpad to Combat Pump-and-Dump Schemes

Rapper Iggy Azalea has been named creative director and strategic partner of Thrust, a new Solana-based token launchpad that officially launched on Wednesday, as confirmed in interviews with The Block and a press release to Decrypt. Azalea, who created the MOTHER meme token last year, will migrate it to the Thrust platform by the end of 2025, aiming to reshape celebrity-backed cryptocurrency projects.

Thrust requires legally binding contracts for all creators and vets every token launch to prevent pump-and-dump schemes, addressing issues like insider allocations and bonding-curve mechanics seen on platforms like Pump.fun. The platform eliminates bonding curves and directs all presale funds to liquidity pools to ensure fairer supply distribution. The first token offering on Thrust is from streamer N3on, and actress Megan Fox is expected to launch a token in December, with live events planned as part of the platform's pipeline.

Azalea, an equity holder in Thrust, emphasized her role in onboarding celebrities "in a more sustainable and responsible way," describing it as being a "godmother" to the projects. Co-founded by Jake Antifaev, Thrust focuses on "culture coins" rather than traditional meme coins, prioritizing participation over speculation to combat the short-lived nature of many celebrity tokens, such as the HAWK token that collapsed 93% after reaching a $490 million market cap.
