Monad Announces Mainnet and MON Token Launch for November 24 with Massive Airdrop

The Monad Foundation has confirmed that its layer-1 blockchain mainnet and native MON token will officially launch on November 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM ET (17:00 UTC). This highly scalable network, which is Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible, aims to compete directly with established players like Ethereum and Solana by offering 10,000 transactions per second (TPS), near-zero gas fees, and 800-millisecond finality.

Monad has raised over $240 million in funding, including a $225 million round led by Paradigm last year, to support its development. The project launched its testnet earlier in 2025 to prepare users for the mainnet rollout. Alongside the launch, a community airdrop for the MON token has been allocated to nearly 225,000 verified on-chain users, following a rigorous anti-sybil process to eliminate low-value activity. Eligible recipients include active participants in DeFi protocols such as Aave, Euler, and Morpho, high-volume DEX traders on platforms like Hyperliquid and Uniswap, long-term holders of NFTs like CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins, and users of memecoin platforms such as Pump.fun and Virtuals.

Pre-market trading for MON tokens on the perps DEX Hyperliquid has already generated over $14 million in volume in the last 24 hours, with prices around $0.06—a 48% increase. Official trading will commence upon mainnet launch, with centralized exchange Kraken confirming it will list MON on day one. The token request portal, which allowed users to check allocations, saw such high demand that partner wallet Privy experienced performance issues, underscoring the anticipation around this event.
