Cardano has officially announced that the NIGHT token, the native asset of its privacy-focused Midnight network, will launch on December 8, 2025. The token distribution and trading support will commence on the same day across partnered exchanges, marking a significant milestone for the ecosystem.
Charles Hoskinson, during his keynote at The Midnight Summit, highlighted that Midnight is designed to enable confidential smart contracts and secure data handling while maintaining regulatory compliance. "Privacy is the answer" to growing demand for secure digital interactions, he stated, positioning Midnight as a bridge between public blockchains and real-world use cases.
The network targets both individual and institutional users, focusing on selective disclosure to balance privacy with compliance, placing it in competition with blockchains like Zcash. Development milestones include growing application development, enhancing liquidity from day one, and onboarding developers and enterprise partners.
Analysts are monitoring ADA's market reaction, as the token approaches a critical support zone near $0.30. Historically, major ecosystem launches have acted as catalysts, and if the $0.30 level holds, it could support a potential rebound for ADA.
