The OORT Foundation has announced the burn of 1.5 million OORT tokens in November 2025, as part of its quarterly strategy to manage token supply and drive ecosystem growth. This action increases the total tokens burned in 2025 to 8.272 million, with cumulative burns since the project's inception reaching 17.35 million tokens.

The burn was executed in two transactions: 900,000 OORT tokens through Gate.io and 600,000 tokens via Bitget, permanently removing them from circulation. This reduction represents approximately 0.23% of the circulating supply and 0.08% of the total 2 billion token supply, aimed at increasing scarcity and fostering long-term investor confidence.

In August 2025, the foundation conducted a primary token unlock but simultaneously burned 4 million tokens worth $116,000, aligning with efforts to stabilize the token economy. Additionally, an extra 1,471,606 OORT tokens were burned through a separate mechanism this quarter.

Looking forward, the OORT Foundation plans to allocate more revenue towards strategic marketing and user acquisition for its decentralized AI data cloud platform, DataHub, while continuing buyback and burn initiatives. The foundation also emphasized adoption drives through Deimos Edge Nodes and the Olympus Layer-1 blockchain, which utilizes energy-efficient directed acyclic graph (DAG) technology.
