Pi Network has announced a significant partnership with CiDi Games, marking one of its most concrete steps towards transforming theoretical ecosystem activity into real, functional utility. According to an update shared by Pi, by November 2025, the integration will enable users to redeem Pi tokens directly for in-game payments, player rewards, and incentives within the expanding portfolio of Web3-integrated games on CiDi.
This project aligns with Pi Network's overarching goal of transitioning from a closed-network testing phase to a fully operational digital economy, where millions of Pioneers can apply Pi in actual digital contexts. The alliance aims to leverage the viral adoption of gaming to access Pi's vast user base of over 35 million, creating natural demand loops by allowing players to spend, earn, and circulate Pi in games, thereby boosting engagement and strengthening Pi's internal economy.
CiDi Games is a scalable platform for launching Web3 games, capable of onboarding high player counts, making it a natural choice as an early partner as Pi continues to broaden its utility roadmap.
Community response has been mixed, with enthusiasm for gaming as a potential "killer app" long awaited by Pi, but also frustration over ongoing KYC delays, extended Mainnet schedules, and recent price volatility caused by unlocked supply. Some concerns remain that without a fully open mainnet, gaming utility might persist as an early-stage experiment.
