MegaETH is set to open its Frontier mainnet beta to developers next week, marking a crucial transition from test environments to a live, developer-facing platform. This one-month beta phase, beginning in early December, is the final step before the full public mainnet launch, which is targeted for early 2026.

The Frontier beta is specifically tailored for developers, early adopters, and infrastructure teams. Its primary focus is on stability testing, early application deployment, and real-time performance trials. Developers will gain access to test features such as sub-millisecond latency, in-memory processing, and just-in-time compilation for smart contracts in conditions that closely mirror a live production environment.

The rollout will be staged, starting with infrastructure teams that have already begun deploying, followed by broader application testing and phased user onboarding in the subsequent weeks. MegaETH has described this as a "stability-first" stage with no incentives, where brief downtime is expected as performance limits are tested. The team aims to gather critical feedback from curated partners and infrastructure providers during this period.

This launch follows a volatile November for the project, which included the unveiling of Frontier and a pre-deposit bridge for USDC collateral. The bridge was paused almost immediately due to configuration issues, but MegaETH fully refunded all deposits by November 27 and committed to a redesigned, audited bridge before relaunching it—a move that garnered community support for prioritizing safety.

MegaETH's Layer 2 solution is designed to support over 100,000 transactions per second, positioning itself as a high-performance scaling solution for Ethereum. The successful execution of this beta phase is critical for MegaETH to deliver on its promise of "real-time Ethereum" performance in a production setting.
