The Gensyn Foundation has officially launched its $AI token sale on the Sonar platform on December 15th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the a16z-backed decentralized AI network as it prepares for its upcoming Mainnet launch. The sale introduces the network's native utility token, which will be integral for coordinating payments, staking, security, and governance across the Gensyn ecosystem.
The token sale offers 300,000,000 $AI tokens, representing 3% of the total token supply. It is structured as an English auction with a valuation floor of $1 million Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) and a cap of $1 billion FDV. This valuation aligns with the price from Gensyn's last funding round, which was led by a16z just two months prior. The sale is conducted on the Ethereum Mainnet, accepting bids in USDC or USDT with a minimum bid of $100. Successful participants will claim their tokens on the Gensyn Network, a Layer-2 solution.
A key feature of the sale is a bonus multiplier program for verified Testnet participants. These users will receive a token multiplier on their purchase amount, funded from a dedicated 2% reward pool. The multiplier size is determined by the user's level of participation in the Gensyn Testnet and their bid amount in the sale, with Testnet activity being the primary factor. This initiative rewards early supporters.
The Gensyn Testnet has demonstrated substantial traction, with metrics including over 2 million AI models trained, more than 165,000 users, and in excess of 90 million transactions (averaging 575,000 per day). The $AI token is designed as the utility currency for a marketplace where anyone can contribute computational power for AI tasks, training signals, models, or evaluation criteria, with performance priced transparently in real-time.
Ben Fielding, Co-Founder and CEO of Gensyn AI, stated, "We've had huge success testing our infrastructure and applications on testnet and we're ready to move to the next phase, operating with real value and game theoretic security on mainnet. Doing a public sale ahead of launch allows us to focus on fair distribution and prioritise community members who have supported the testnet and show conviction in our thesis." The sale also includes an opportunity for participants to win a Gensyn-branded GPU workstation.
