Institutional staking provider Chorus One has announced a strategic integration with Ledger Enterprise, bringing self-custodial, governance-ready staking for four major cryptocurrencies directly to institutional clients. The collaboration enables institutions to stake Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), and Tezos (XTZ) without transferring asset custody or compromising internal governance controls.
The integration combines Ledger's hardware-backed security with Chorus One's institutional-grade validator infrastructure. Private keys remain protected by Ledger's secure hardware and governance controls, while Chorus One manages the validator performance and staking operations. This setup allows staking actions, reward management, and delegation to occur entirely within an institution's existing governance environment on the Ledger Enterprise platform.
Key features highlighted include multi-authorization and configurable governance workflows, audit-ready reporting for compliance and treasury management, and seamless staking and reward management. Damien Scanlon, Chief Product Officer at Chorus One, stated, "Institutions need staking solutions that match their security, compliance, and operational requirements." He added that the integration allows the companies "to deliver a streamlined staking experience that keeps governance firmly in the hands of the client."
Sébastien Badault, Executive Vice President at Ledger Enterprise, emphasized the growing institutional adoption of digital assets, noting that "uncompromising security and governance remain fundamental prerequisites." He stated that integrating Chorus One's infrastructure makes "it simpler for institutions to earn staking yields."
The partnership addresses a significant barrier to institutional participation in Proof-of-Stake networks by providing a solution that aligns with strict internal governance, security, and compliance frameworks. Chorus One operates validator infrastructure for over forty PoS networks, including Cosmos, Solana, Avalanche, and Near, extending this reach to Ledger's institutional client base.
The announcement comes amid a broader context of increasing institutional staking activity. The news references other recent developments, including SharpLink Gaming reporting over $33 million in passive income from ETH staking and Bitmine significantly increasing its staked ETH holdings. The partnership positions Ledger Enterprise as an end-to-end digital asset management platform for custody, governance, and yield generation.
