Anthropic, the AI company behind the Claude chatbot, has closed a massive $30 billion funding round at a staggering $380 billion post-money valuation, more than doubling its value since September. This financial milestone coincides with two major strategic moves: a successful Super Bowl advertising campaign that significantly boosted Claude's user metrics, and a landmark partnership with global IT giant Infosys to develop and deploy Agentic AI systems.
The Super Bowl ad, which aired to 125 million U.S. viewers, directly criticized rival OpenAI's decision to introduce ads to ChatGPT, positioning Claude as an ad-free alternative. The campaign delivered immediate results: Claude's daily active users surged by 11%, site visits increased by 6.5%, and its U.S. App Store ranking skyrocketed from No. 41 to No. 7—its highest ranking ever. From Sunday through Tuesday post-game, Claude's U.S. downloads hit 148,000, a 32% increase from the prior three-day period. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman publicly criticized the ad, calling it "deceptive" and "clearly dishonest," highlighting the intensifying rivalry.
Concurrently, Anthropic announced a major strategic partnership with Infosys. Claude's models will be integrated into Infosys Topaz to build Agentic AI systems capable of independently managing complex business processes. The collaboration will launch a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence initially targeting the telecommunications and financial services sectors. In telecom, AI agents will manage network operations and "intelligent automation." In finance, they will accelerate fraud detection, compliance reporting, and provide personalized client advice.
A key component of the deal is Claude Code, Anthropic's developer tool, which Infosys has already deployed internally. Reports indicate nearly 4% of all public commits on GitHub are now authored by Claude Code. The partnership also aims to help large enterprises migrate from legacy systems to modern cloud infrastructure. This move is part of Anthropic's global expansion strategy, which includes opening a new office in Bengaluru, India.
The $30 billion in fresh capital will fuel this expansion and the technological arms race. Anthropic, positioning itself as the primary alternative to the Microsoft-OpenAI alliance, is notably the only major AI model available on all three major cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure. The company recently released its Claude Opus 4.6 model on February 5, 2026, featuring "context compaction" for longer task memory and "adaptive thinking" for complex problem-solving.
