Binance has rolled out a major upgrade to its Binance Junior platform, introducing cryptocurrency gifting, merchant payments, and an integrated educational hub. The platform, designed for users aged 6 to 17, was originally launched in December 2025 and operates under full parental supervision.
The update enables parents to activate peer-to-peer transfers and the Red Packet gifting feature, allowing family members and friends to send cryptocurrencies directly to a minor's wallet. However, the system imposes a strict annual receiving limit of $12,000 across all transfers and gifts. Once this threshold is reached, the account cannot receive new transfers until the next cycle.
Parents retain complete control, with the ability to enable or disable specific features and monitor account activity through the platform's interface. A new Merchant Pay feature allows Junior users to make payments at selected merchants, with active restrictions on prohibited categories such as gambling and tobacco.
As part of the educational push, Binance has integrated its illustrated eBook, "ABCs of Crypto," directly into the application. The mobile-optimized book explains fundamental cryptocurrency concepts in terms accessible to children and teenagers.
Binance Co-CEO Yi He emphasized that many of the new features emerged from community feedback. "It is important that our children are prepared for a future where digital finance plays a vital role," she stated. The executive noted the platform's goal is to make teaching and learning about crypto as a family easier and more enjoyable within a safe environment.
