Veteran chart analyst Peter Brandt has projected a Bitcoin price target of $250,000 by 2029, responding to a weekend discussion sparked by NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. Brandt advised the basketball legend to 'buy the banana' of Bitcoin, referring to his long-term logarithmic growth channel analysis.
Brandt's 'banana' logic refers to Bitcoin's curved, multi-year growth channel that has contained its price action since 2012. The price oscillates between a lower green boundary, marking deep cyclical retracements, and an upper red band, coinciding with periods of speculative excess. Currently, with Bitcoin trading in the high-$60,000 range after peaking near $92,000 in January 2026, the asset sits in the middle of this range, far from historic extremes.
The $250,000 projection assumes the continuation of a pattern witnessed in three prior cycles: 2013, 2017, and 2021. Brandt's analysis is mechanical and mathematical: if BTC remains within its logarithmic growth corridor and repeats prior cycle behavior, the upper boundary will migrate to the mid-six-figure range before the end of the decade. The timeline stretches across the next halving cycle into 2029, making this a long-term forecast rather than a near-term prediction.
While not denying Pippen's optimism for Bitcoin, Brandt insists that long-term geometry still governs the asset's price. The analyst brings credibility to this forecast with more than 50 years of experience in the futures market.
