Key takeaways:

  • Dubai's institutional embrace of fintech and AI through events like Trescon's signals a maturing regulatory environment for crypto in the MEASA region.
  • The growth of government-backed tech forums in emerging markets creates new, high-credibility channels for blockchain project adoption and investment.
  • Trescon's expansion into deeptech and cybersecurity platforms highlights a strategic pivot towards infrastructure-critical sectors beyond pure digital assets.

Trescon, a global business events company, is marking its 10-year anniversary as a trusted partner for government-backed business platforms in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Founded in Bengaluru in 2016 by Mohammed Saleem, Mithun Shetty, and Swarnavo Roy, the company has evolved from a startup to a key institutional partner, with its regional headquarters established in Dubai in 2021.

The company's strategic bet on Dubai's ambition to lead in finance, AI, sustainability, and future industries has paid off. Trescon currently manages four core events within the Dubai Future Finance Week, organized by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC): the Dubai FinTech Summit, the Future Sustainability Forum, the Future Islamic Finance Forum, and the Reg3 Forum. The Dubai FinTech Summit alone has scaled to over 9,000 participants, helping position Dubai as a premier global fintech capital.

Over the past decade, Trescon has delivered more than 500 events globally across 10+ countries, attracting over 250,000 attendees, generating more than 1 million business connections, and engaging over 3,500 investors. The company's leadership team, which includes Naveen Bharadwaj as Group CEO, oversees more than 250 professionals across international offices.

"Our philosophy has always been simple: if a government entrusts you with a flagship platform, delivery must be flawless. At this level, the organiser’s credibility and the government’s reputation are inseparable," stated Founder & Chairman Mohammed Saleem.

With Dubai as its operational anchor, Trescon is now accelerating its expansion across the wider MEASA (Middle East, Africa, and South Asia) growth corridor. The company has recently expanded to Riyadh and is pursuing growth in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and emerging African markets like Mauritius. It is developing new large-scale, government-aligned platforms focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, STEM, and deeptech.

"Grateful to Dubai for providing the proving ground for our government-partnership model. As we enter our second decade, we are scaling that framework across high-growth economies aligned with future technologies, sustainability & capacity building," said Group CEO Naveen Bharadwaj.

Trescon's portfolio also includes its own signature event brands: World AI Show, HODL, DATE, CARE for Sustainability, and the World FinTech Show. The company positions itself as an architect of economic platforms that convene regulators, investors, enterprises, startups, and innovators.
