Nvidia is preparing to enter the artificial intelligence agent market with a new open-source platform called NemoClaw, according to a report by Wired. The chipmaker has reportedly begun pitching the project to major enterprise software companies, including Salesforce, Cisco, Google, Adobe, and CrowdStrike, to build an ecosystem around AI agents capable of performing complex business tasks.
The platform is designed to allow companies to deploy AI agents that can execute tasks on behalf of employees. A key feature is the inclusion of security and privacy tools, addressing concerns that have emerged with similar autonomous AI tools. Importantly, companies will be able to access NemoClaw regardless of whether their products run on Nvidia chips, removing a potential adoption barrier for its proprietary technology.
The development is strategically timed ahead of Nvidia's annual GTC 2026 developer conference in San Jose next week, where the company is expected to make formal announcements regarding its AI hardware and software roadmap. The initiative reflects Nvidia's growing focus on AI agents—specialized systems that can plan and execute multi-step tasks with minimal human supervision. The company has been laying the groundwork with recent releases of foundational models like Nemotron and Cosmos, and by expanding its NeMo platform for managing the AI agent lifecycle.
The platform's name taps into the rising trend of "claw"-style AI tools, such as OpenClaw (acquired by OpenAI), which are open-source agents designed to run locally on personal computers. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has previously called OpenClaw "the most important software release probably ever," highlighting the strategic importance of this category.
