Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX), a company focused on tokenizing real-world assets, announced on Monday the appointment of former Morgan Stanley executive Christine Plummer as its new Chief Financial Officer. Plummer brings over two decades of experience from her tenure at Morgan Stanley and also served as a global controller at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
In a statement, Streamex co-founder and CEO Henry McPhie highlighted the strategic value of the hire: "Christine brings a combination of deep traditional finance experience and leadership in digital asset infrastructure. We believe her background at Coinbase, along with her earlier career at Morgan Stanley, gives her a unique perspective as we bring tokenized commodity products like GLDY to market."
The appointment is a key part of Streamex's expansion of its institutional platform. The company recently launched GLDY in February 2026, a tokenized security designed to offer investors exposure to physical gold while generating yield. Streamex has positioned gold tokenization as a potential competitor to Bitcoin, citing the precious metal's higher trading volume, greater market capitalization, and potential for increased institutional adoption.
Christine Plummer expressed her motivation for the new role, stating, "I’m excited to join Streamex as the Company advances tokenization initiatives that connect traditional financial markets with blockchain-enabled infrastructure. My experience working in digital asset finance environments, combined with my earlier career at Morgan Stanley supporting complex global financial operations, provides a strong foundation for helping scale the Company’s finance organization."
Analysts view the move as a significant step in the professionalization and convergence of traditional finance (TradFi) with the digital asset ecosystem. By integrating top-tier talent from major investment banking and crypto exchange backgrounds, Streamex aims to strengthen its competitive position in the growing Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization sector, emphasizing transparency and regulatory compliance for institutional adoption.
