Opinion Market, a decentralized platform enabling users to bet on opinion-based questions using USDC, officially launched on April 8, 2026. The platform, part of the broader XYZVerse ecosystem, transforms viral debates into on-chain markets with real financial stakes, operating on the Binance Smart Chain.
The core betting model is belief-based, where the winning side of a debate is determined not by external events or official results, but simply by which side attracts more capital by the market's closing time. Winners receive a proportional share of the losing side's pool after fees. The platform is designed with a low entry barrier, allowing bets starting from just $1 in USDC.
A key technological feature is the use of Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs to hide the actual bet amounts on each side while a market is live. This is intended to reduce herd behavior, preventing users from simply following the money. The hidden volumes are only revealed upon market settlement, which occurs automatically on-chain.
Users are introduced to markets through a swipe-based feed resembling short-form social apps, where they can vote on questions for free before deciding to place a real-money bet. For betting, users can either create an embedded wallet via Privy (using email, Google, or Telegram) or connect an external wallet like MetaMask.
Any user can create a market for a $20 USDC fee, setting a question, two answer options, and a duration (typically 1-4 hours, with marathon markets up to 24 hours). Market creators earn 25% of the 4% fee collected from the total pool. The fee structure allocates 50% to platform operations, 25% to the creator, and 25% to a referral pool to incentivize growth.
The launch follows a reported presale that raised approximately $15 million to $16 million in early 2026. XYZVerse, the parent ecosystem, describes itself as a sports-themed crypto platform and has plans for a crypto-powered Counter-Strike 2 league with a $5.5 million prize pool.
Opinion Market positions itself as both a financial and social product, incorporating AI moderation, user reporting, and a reputation system where user influence is tied to the quality of their calls in the markets.
