KuCoin Institutional, the institutional arm of the KuCoin exchange, has announced the integration of Asseto's flagship real-world asset (RWA) product, CASH+, into its institutional collateral framework. This integration is facilitated through KuCoin's Off-Exchange Settlement (OES) program and its proprietary RWA Collateral Mirroring Solution (RCMS).
The move significantly expands the range of recognized collateral available to institutional clients. It enables them to obtain stablecoin-equivalent trading credit lines while maintaining ownership and yield exposure to the underlying asset. KuCoin Institutional claims this makes it the first global exchange to offer such a solution under a broad global framework.
CASH+ is described as an institutional-grade money market yield token. It provides 1:1 exposure to units of the CMS USD Money Market Fund, I Class, which is managed by CMS Asset Management (HK) Co., Limited, a subsidiary of China Merchants Securities. Each token is fully backed by underlying fund units and offers an annualized yield of 3.5% to 4%. The token is deployed on both the Ethereum and BNB Chain networks and undergoes regular independent proof-of-reserve attestations.
The practical application allows eligible institutional holders—such as quantitative trading teams, market makers, and digital asset funds—to pledge CASH+ as off-exchange collateral. This grants them trading credit without transferring asset ownership, effectively allowing a single capital allocation to simultaneously generate yield and support active trading. KuCoin reports that quant teams are already using CASH+ as margin collateral through the OES framework while earning the underlying yield.
Tika Lum, Head of Global Business Development at KuCoin Institutional, stated, "The integration of CASH+ into our OES framework reflects a broader shift in institutional demand toward yield-generating, high-quality collateral." Bridget Li, CEO and Co-Founder of Asseto, added that acceptance into KuCoin's RCMS validates CASH+'s institutional credibility.
This development is part of KuCoin Institutional's roadmap to build capital-efficient infrastructure bridging traditional finance and digital asset markets. Asseto, an Asia-focused RWA tokenization platform, has tokenized asset volume exceeding $500 million and has received strategic investment from HashKey Group.
