Money20/20 Asia has announced the launch of "The Intersection Stage," a dedicated platform at its upcoming Bangkok event focused on the convergence of Traditional Finance (TradFi) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The stage, part of a global activation across Money20/20's events in Asia, Europe, and the United States, will convene industry leaders, regulators, and innovators from April 21-23, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.
The initiative aims to showcase the most influential companies and shape conversations about the future of money as digital assets and traditional banking enter a new era of collaboration. "Asia is leading this transformation, and the Intersection Stage brings together the leaders, innovators, and regulators driving this shift with the ideas, technologies, and regulatory reforms that are reshaping global finance," said Danny Levy, EVP & Managing Director for APAC & the Middle East at Money20/20. The agenda highlights regulatory frameworks like the US Genius Act, Europe's MiCA, and Asia's CBDC initiatives as key drivers of this convergence.
Simultaneously, cryptocurrency exchange BTCC released its Q1 2026 Growth Report, detailing a significant expansion beyond crypto. The quarter's defining development was the launch of "TradFi," a feature enabling users to trade traditional market instruments like Silver, Gold, and WTI Crude Oil using USDT. Within weeks, cumulative volume surpassed $200 million, driven by geopolitical tensions and demand for safe-haven assets. Total Q1 TradFi volume reached $950 million, with single-day peaks of $60 million in gold and $33 million in oil recorded on March 6, 2026.
BTCC also launched "BTCC Earn," a flexible yield product offering up to 20% APY, which crossed $50 million USDT in subscriptions shortly after launch. The exchange bolstered its Risk Reserve Fund by $2 million, bringing the total to over $23 million, and was named "Most Secure Digital Asset Exchange" by Pan Finance. Internationally, BTCC became an Official Regional Partner of the Argentine National Football Team (AFA) and made its first booth appearance in Japan at the TEAMZ Summit in Tokyo.
Key sessions at the Money20/20 Intersection Stage will include discussions on integrating blockchain into traditional finance, building records for tokenized asset markets, cross-border regulation, and the rise of blockchain and stablecoin payment rails. Participants include representatives from Ernst & Young, Reed Smith, Bank of America, AMINA Bank, Northern Trust, Pantera Capital, Kraken, and Nethermind.
