Binance's Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Conlan is set to leave the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange on June 15, 2026, according to multiple reports. Conlan, who has led Binance's global brand strategy since September 2023 and previously served as Vice President of Global Marketing, will be succeeded on an interim basis by Eowyn Chen, the former CEO of Trust Wallet.
Conlan joined Binance in 2022 during a period of intense regulatory scrutiny and market downturn. Her tenure included navigating the aftermath of the FTX collapse and rebuilding trust through compliance-focused messaging. She was instrumental in securing high-profile partnerships with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Alpine Formula One team, The Weeknd, and influencer Khaby Lame, while also spearheading educational initiatives and even launching a commemorative fragrance. However, her departure comes as the broader crypto industry rethinks costly advertising strategies. Major exchanges have been scaling back expensive sponsorships, a trend that recently saw Crypto.com CMO Steven Kalifowitz also exit and Bybit announce it would not renew its Formula One sponsorship.
The incoming interim CMO, Eowyn Chen, brings a strong background in decentralized finance and user empowerment from her time leading Trust Wallet, a self-custody wallet Binance acquired in 2018. Her appointment may signal a strategic pivot toward product-led growth and deeper integration between Binance's centralized exchange and its decentralized offerings. This leadership change unfolds as Binance still operates under the shadow of a $4.3 billion U.S. settlement from late 2023 and as CEO Richard Teng works to reposition the firm as a regulated financial institution.
