Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the Universal Cup, a global football-themed community campaign that coincides with the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The initiative, running from June 11 to July 19, 2026, invites users to participate in an interactive penalty shootout mini-game where they can compete for a share of a 250,000 USDT prize pool. The campaign is built around the slogan "Don't Just Watch. Rule the Game," transforming spectators into active participants.
Participants can select from 48 countries and score points by hitting moving targets representing three major trading categories within the Bitget ecosystem: Crypto, Stocks, and CFDs. Individual scores contribute to national rankings on a live global leaderboard. Even if a user's chosen nation is eliminated, they can switch to another country and continue competing throughout the tournament.
The 250,000 USDT prize pool is distributed across multiple reward categories, including daily rewards, individual leaderboard rankings, lucky draws, tournament-stage competitions, and championship prizes. Additional rewards are allocated to members of the eventual winning nation.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, stated: "For years, sports fans have been some of the most passionate audiences in the world, but mostly as spectators. Crypto changes that dynamic by making participation part of the experience. Universal Cup brings together competition, community, and engagement around a global sporting moment while giving users a fun introduction to the Universal Exchange ecosystem."
The campaign leverages Bitget's existing ties to football, including past partnerships with Lionel Messi and its current role as an official regional partner of LALIGA in Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. The Universal Cup extends these relationships into an interactive, gamified experience designed to onboard users to the Universal Exchange model that combines crypto, traditional assets, and engagement.
