The blockchain payment rewards platform RealFi has officially launched its mobile application built on the XRP Ledger, now available globally through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The move extends access to XRP-based payment services to an estimated 4.5 billion mobile devices, marking a significant step in bringing blockchain utility to everyday commerce.
The app leverages the XRP Ledger’s fast settlement times and low transaction fees to offer on-chain reward distribution. When a customer makes a qualifying purchase at a RealFi-enabled merchant—such as those using the previously announced Shopify integration—the system validates the transaction and sends REAL tokens directly to the user’s XRP Ledger wallet within seconds. This automation removes manual reward processes and creates a publicly verifiable, transparent record.
RealFi’s ecosystem integrations extend further with Bitget Wallet, enabling broader wallet accessibility. While the service has facilitated over $682,000 in receipt value and onboarded thousands of users, the app launch is expected to drive additional volume. The development complements broader expansion on the XRP Ledger, which recently saw Ripple and Bitso announce plans for a Mexican peso-backed stablecoin (MXNB) on the network’s Permissioned DEX, targeting cross-border payments between the U.S. and Mexico.
For XRP, applications like RealFi could bolster long-term utility and transactional demand. As of publication, XRP traded near $1.18, with broader market conditions still the dominant price driver, but ecosystem growth continues to reinforce the network’s payments narrative.
