As Pi2Day on June 28 approaches, Pi Network is accelerating ecosystem development with two major initiatives: the launch of a second Testnet token, SLICE, and an extended campaign to attract AI-powered app builders through Pi App Studio.
The SLICE test token is tied directly to Slice of Pi, a functioning Pi-powered game, moving beyond the earlier IRRA test that attracted 478,000 Pioneers. Key launchpad upgrades simplify participation flow, improve user interface, automate commitment calculations, and enhance feedback collection. SLICE will remain a Testnet asset and never migrate to Mainnet, emphasizing real-application testing over speculation. Participation is open via Pi Browser until Pi2Day.
Simultaneously, the project’s "vibe coder" push encourages developers using AI-assisted tools like Codex, Claude Code, Replit, Cursor, and Lovable to convert apps into Pi-compatible versions through Pi App Studio. The process—build with AI, integrate Pi SDK, publish—grants access to over 60 million engaged users and lowers adoption barriers for non-blockchain creators.
These moves align with Pi Network’s broader vision of a utility-focused ecosystem, where tokens drive user acquisition, governance, and decentralized finance (DeFi) activity. The upgraded launchpad framework and developer campaign could lay the groundwork for healthier DEX markets and a larger app economy. At the time of writing, PI traded near $0.136, with modest gains, as investors watch whether the ecosystem push marks a milestone toward real-world adoption.
