BitSafe has officially opened the public beta of Decentralization Manager, an open-sourced framework designed to streamline the creation of decentralized financial applications on the Canton Network. The launch is backed by a Canton Foundation Development Fund grant exceeding $1 million (8,500,000 $CC). Independently audited by Quantstamp, the infrastructure allows institutions and developers to build resilient products that distribute control across multiple independent operators, removing the need to develop threshold custody, governance, and audit systems from scratch.
Canton Network, increasingly critical for institutional on-chain operations, requires audit trails and distributed trust. Decentralization Manager addresses this by providing reusable components for token issuance, multi-signature custody, and governance. The framework supports a wide range of applications: tokenized real-world assets, stablecoins, wrapped cryptoassets, DEXs, lending protocols, and structured products.
“The future of institutional blockchain depends on making sophisticated infrastructure easier to build and adopt,” said Viv Diwakar, Head of the Canton Foundation. “By open-sourcing Decentralization Manager, BitSafe is giving developers the tools to create resilient, privacy-preserving applications that distribute trust across independent operators without compromising governance and control.”
The first live use case, CBTC (wrapped Bitcoin on Canton), has already clocked over 10 million transactions. Node operators supporting CBTC earn a share of Canton fees, and the new framework extends that earning opportunity network-wide. Palladium Labs is the first announced builder leveraging the technology for multi-party authorization, with additional adopters including Nethermind, DSRV, and Finoa Consensus Services. The public beta is available on the Canton Foundation’s GitHub, and a further grant application is underway.
