Key takeaways:

  • Sustained XRP ETF inflows despite weak price suggest institutional accumulation betting on regulatory wins.
  • Slowing flows and more zero-flow days signal fading retail interest, raising XRP’s August downside risk.
  • XRP’s ETF flow dominance over Solana underscores its perceived legal clarity advantage for altcoin investors.

Spot exchange-traded funds tracking Ripple's XRP token maintained their status as the altcoin ETF market's most consistent source of new capital, extending a four-month inflow streak into July. According to data from SoSoValue, the U.S.-listed XRP ETFs attracted $27.29 million in net inflows during the month, ending only one day of July without reportable action. This marks the fourth consecutive month of positive flows, with cumulative total net inflows surpassing $1.5 billion by Friday's close.

The weekly numbers showed a late acceleration: modest flows of under $600,000 on Monday and Wednesday gave way to $6 million on Thursday and $7.7 million on Friday, totaling $14.86 million for the week. That was the best weekly performance since early July, when the funds pulled in $17.19 million. On a monthly basis, July’s $27.29 million was only the second-weakest month (better than January's $15.59 million), far behind peaks like November's $666.61 million or May’s $131.94 million. The slowdown was also reflected in a high number of zero-flow days – 11 out of 22 trading sessions – suggesting dwindling investor interest.

Among ETF issuers, Bitwise’s XRP product continues to lead Canary Capital’s XRPC, with $511 million versus $467 million in cumulative net inflows. The broader altcoin ETF landscape remained uneven: Solana funds gathered $14.62 million in July, Chainlink $4.54 million, and Hedera $3 million, while many others, including Avalanche and Polkadot, saw no flows. Despite the persistent inflows, XRP’s price struggled, staying below $1.10 and down over 3% on the month, with historical August weakness adding caution.
