BlockDAG, a project emphasizing token utility and supply discipline, announced a partnership with crypto payment platform RedotPay to develop a "BlockDAG Super App." According to the companies' joint statement on August 4, 2026, the integrated app aims to consolidate mobile mining, BDAG claiming, staking, asset trading, multi-currency storage, and in-app gaming. The integration with RedotPay’s card and payment infrastructure is expected to enable crypto-based transactions at merchants within RedotPay's network.
The announcement comes amid broader market attention on tokenomics and supply management. BlockDAG, which touts a fixed maximum supply of 150 billion BDAG coins, has framed the partnership as a way to increase token utility by combining mining, payments, and rewards. However, project materials and promotional details, including a buyback program and exchange fee discounts, remain company claims and have not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, Pi Coin (PI) rose approximately 6% to $0.0856 ahead of the Protocol 26 upgrade scheduled for August 11. The project describes the upgrade as bringing safety and interoperability improvements, though some analysts caution that ongoing token distribution dynamics could lead to sell pressure. Zcash (ZEC) continued to test resistance around $480, with technical observers noting that a decisive close above this level could ease near-term selling pressure, while support sits near $460.
The developments tie into the ongoing conversation around token supply discipline: Polkadot (DOT) earlier this year implemented a hard cap of 2.1 billion DOT and reduced annual issuance, Bittensor (TAO) maintains a Bitcoin-style 21 million cap, and Ondo (ONDO) has a governance proposal to burn 100 million tokens. These approaches highlight the industry’s evolving focus on transparent tokenomics.
