Polymarket, the blockchain-based prediction market platform, is reportedly in discussions to raise $1 billion in a new funding round that would value the company at approximately $20 billion. According to sources familiar with the matter cited by Bloomberg, the terms have not yet been finalized, but the potential deal represents a significant leap in the company's growth trajectory.
The platform had previously been valued at $15 billion in a Series E round in March 2025 and just $9 billion in October 2025. In April 2026, it raised $1 billion at a $15 billion valuation. Recently, Polymarket launched its U.S. platform and reported annualized revenue exceeding $1.2 billion, underlining its rapid expansion.
Polymarket’s competitor Kalshi was valued at $22 billion after its latest funding round, intensifying the race for dominance in the prediction market sector. The platform allows users to trade on event outcomes, from elections to economic data, and gained traction during the 2024 U.S. presidential election cycle.
However, the industry faces regulatory scrutiny. The CFTC previously reached a settlement with Polymarket in 2022, and legal uncertainties persist. If completed, the funding round would cement Polymarket’s position as a major player at the intersection of blockchain and event-driven trading, while also raising questions about market integrity and oversight.
