XRP has recorded a notable shift in exchange activity, with withdrawal transactions reaching their highest share since 2019. According to CryptoQuant data, Binance withdrawal transactions climbed to 56.85% on August 14, while deposit transactions dropped to 43.12%, creating a 13.73 percentage-point gap between withdrawals and deposits. Across all tracked centralized exchanges, withdrawals reached 54.9% versus 45% for deposits, a 9.9 percentage-point difference that reinforces the trend.
The indicator uses a seven-day measurement, reducing the influence of isolated daily movements and pointing to a sustained change in XRP exchange transaction behavior. XRP traded near $1.01 while withdrawal transaction shares increased despite price weakness. However, CryptoQuant’s metric measures transaction counts rather than transferred XRP volume, so the data does not independently confirm net exchange outflows or accumulation by investors.
In a separate reading, CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost reported that XRP whale deposits to Binance have fallen to their lowest level since 2021. The three-month average of whale deposits now stands at roughly $61 million, down sharply from $456 million in January 2024 and $355 million in October 2024. Darkfost noted that current deposit levels are six to eight times lower than earlier peaks. Net inflows remain positive at $18.8 million, indicating that some XRP is still moving into Binance, but at a much slower pace. Reduced whale deposits are generally viewed as a bullish signal because they imply less selling pressure from large holders, though Darkfost cautioned that the absence of clear new demand means it is too early to call a trend reversal.
