Pump.fun’s native token PUMP has become the top performer among the crypto top 100, gaining roughly 9% on Monday and confirming its first golden cross since its mid-2025 launch. The token bottomed at $0.001491 in July and touched $0.003000 intraday before settling near $0.002933, leaving a monthly gain of about 90%.
The technical shift is backed by strengthening momentum. The 50-day exponential moving average has crossed above the 200-day EMA, turning the long-term trend baseline from resistance into support. The Average Directional Index reads 45.3, with positive directional indicators in control, while the Relative Strength Index sits at 51.4—above the bullish midline but not yet overbought.
Fundamentals are also improving. According to DefiLlama, Pump.fun generated $11.52 million in seven-day revenue, placing it behind only Tether, Circle, and Canton among crypto protocols. Over the past week, the buyback-and-burn program directed about $5.37 million to PUMP purchases. The team has now bought back and burned $429 million worth of PUMP, removing 28.58% of circulating supply.
Pump.fun has also introduced competitive updates: Callout Rewards launched on August 13, and app trading fees were reduced to 0% on Solana and 0.1% cross-chain. Derivatives data aligns with the rally—open interest in PUMP perpetuals rose to $238.42 million from roughly $189 million two weeks earlier, with positive funding rates indicating leveraged longs are paying shorts.
The broader crypto market was slightly green on Monday, with Bitcoin up 1% at $64,200, while the Fear & Greed Index held at 39. Against that backdrop, PUMP’s combination of technical breakout, rising revenue, and continued supply reduction has made it the standout story.
