Whale Accumulation and Trump Crypto Meeting Push Pepe, XRP, Dogecoin and Cardano Higher

Key takeaways:

  • ETF inflows and Trump's CLARITY Act pledge drive broad altcoin rally beyond technicals.
  • PEPE's whale accumulation and shrinking exchange reserves suggest strong hands absorbing supply.
  • Fear and Greed at 68 warrants caution; consider trailing stops amid overbought conditions.

The crypto market extended its rally this week, with XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano and Pepe each climbing more than 10% over the past seven days. XRP touched $1.3433, its highest level since May 30 and about 31% above its monthly low, while Dogecoin rose to $0.083, up 20% from its year-to-date low. Cardano and Pepe gained more than 25% from their lowest levels this year. Overall crypto market capitalization rose 6.45% in 24 hours, and the Crypto Fear and Greed Index moved into greed territory at 68, compared with a year-to-date low below 15.

Risk-on sentiment was reinforced by ETF inflows. Spot Bitcoin ETFs added more than $1.5 billion this month, XRP ETFs took in $21.4 million this week and Solana ETFs added $18.2 million. The move also followed a meeting between President Donald Trump and crypto executives from Coinbase, Robinhood and Ripple Labs, where Trump pledged to push the stalled CLARITY Act through the Senate. Polymarket odds for the bill becoming law rose to 29% from a low of 15%, although election-year politics and Democratic ethical concerns remain risks.

The rally follows months of consolidation. Bitcoin traded between $57,800 and $66,700 and formed an inverted head-and-shoulders pattern, while XRP, Cardano and Dogecoin held within their own ranges before breaking out. Bitcoin reached $75,000 for the first time in months as the US public debt surpassed $40 trillion, reinforcing its appeal as a supply-capped hedge.

Pepe showed particularly strong on-chain momentum. It gained 25% for the week and 12% in the latest 24 hours. Seven whale transactions over $1 million occurred Thursday, the highest since March 16, while exchange-held PEPE fell from 82.75 trillion to 81.30 trillion and top non-exchange wallets grew from 80.50 trillion to 84.04 trillion. Futures open interest hit a three-month high of $250 million, with an OI-weighted funding rate of 0.0095%, indicating traders are paying to stay long. Spot demand lagged after $2.65 million in net sales on August 18–19, but about $660,170 in net spot accumulation returned over the following 24 hours. PEPE broke above the June 15 high of $0.00000314, with the next technical levels at the 200-day EMA of $0.00000363 and the May 10 high of $0.00000459.
