Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse told the SALT Wyoming conference on Aug. 21 that the company is adopting artificial intelligence aggressively, framing AI as an enabler and accelerant rather than a reason for job cuts.
Garlinghouse said Ripple has 150 open positions and about 1,500 employees worldwide, and will continue to grow because its business is growing quickly. He dismissed layoff announcements that blame AI, saying such companies "were bloated before and they're using this as an excuse."
Even in a bear market, Garlinghouse said, "Ripple's going to have a record year. We'll more than double revenue year on year." He attributed this to Ripple's long-term focus on infrastructure and institutional adoption, describing the company as the bridge between traditional finance and decentralized finance.
Separately, the event highlighted Ripple's move into the $10 billion private credit market, underscoring its expansion into institutional financial services.
