Sony-linked Japanese crypto exchange S.BLOX has expanded Cardano’s presence in Japan by listing ADA and Midnight’s NIGHT token for trading on August 24, 2026.
S.BLOX, operated under Sony On-Chain Technologies Inc.—a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation that acquired the platform in August 2023—said users can now trade both assets within Japan’s regulated market. The exchange launched promotional campaigns offering up to 10,000 yen in ADA and up to 14,000 yen in NIGHT for participating users.
The NIGHT listing is especially notable because S.BLOX is the first regulated Japanese cryptocurrency exchange to support the token. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson called the move a major milestone, citing Japan’s demanding compliance and regulatory review process under the Financial Services Agency. Midnight’s privacy-focused sidechain supports selective disclosure, allowing users to protect sensitive information while meeting compliance requirements. Midnight launched its Cardano-based sidechain in March 2026, while NIGHT entered circulation in December 2025. Market reports suggest that being enabled on a Sony-backed exchange could bolster liquidity for both assets across the Asian region.
