Two of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, have announced temporary suspensions of Conflux (CFX) deposits and withdrawals on consecutive days. The operational pauses affect movement of the layer-1 blockchain token on both platforms, though CFX trading is expected to continue.
Upbit said its suspension will begin at 9:00 a.m. UTC on Aug. 24. The exchange did not specify the exact reason, but noted that such measures typically occur during network upgrades, wallet maintenance, or transaction integrity checks. Upbit advised users to complete any necessary CFX deposits or withdrawals before the cutoff time.
Bithumb announced a similar suspension effective at 9:00 a.m. UTC on Aug. 25, citing network maintenance as the primary reason. Bithumb did not provide a specific reopening time, stating only that services will resume once maintenance is completed.
For active traders, the temporary inability to move CFX in or out of these exchanges may affect arbitrage strategies, portfolio rebalancing, and transfers to external wallets. However, both platforms indicated that CFX trading on their order books is expected to remain available during the maintenance windows.
Conflux is a public layer-1 blockchain focused on high throughput, scalability, and cross-chain interoperability, with a notable presence in Asia. The suspensions highlight the operational dependencies crypto users still have on centralized exchanges and the importance of monitoring official exchange notices.
